How much does it cost to rent a race car from RP Performance?

Rates start at $450 for Seat Time and FATT’s. SCCA race weekends start at $1200 and up.

How do I reserve a race car?

We require a $250 non-refundable deposit to reserve your Spec Miata. The balance of the rental fee is due 7 days before the event. Deposits are not refundable with the exception of event cancellations or if we are not able to provide you with a car. If you must cancel your rental, you may choose to use the deposit to secure another rental within one year of the original date.

How much is the security deposit?

We require a $2000 security deposit at the time of the rental. This is refunded less any damages within one week of the rental date.

Do I need a racing license to rent a car?

Summit Point Raceway offers on-track driver’s education courses (FATT’s and Seat Time events) that require only a valid driver’s license. Race rentals and test days require an up to date competition license.

What does my rental fee include?

Your rental fee includes fuel, race tires, a transponder, expert trackside support, coaching from one of our RP Performance racing winning team members, lunch, water and gatorade, as well as a copy of your in-car video. We want you to relax and enjoy your racing experience. The “arrive and drive” service with RP Performance assures that all of your energies will be focused on racing.

What other costs will be incurred besides the rental fee?

Entry fees and damages are not included in your rental fee. See your contract for more information about damage fees.

How much track time can I expect to have?

It really depends on the event. A typical FATT, for instance, consists of approximately 2 hours of track time in 20-30 minute increments.

What if the car is damaged on the track?

The renter is responsible for any and all damage that occurs while on the track, regardless of fault-including mechanical failure due to driver error. In the event of a total loss, you are responsible for the value (this amount will be predetermined) of the race car. We have the option to buy the damaged car back at a lower price.

How do I take advantage of the on-track coaching offer?

Please ask ahead of time if you would like some in-car driver coaching. We have championship winning drivers for coaching when available.

Can I purchase a rental car?

We can sell our rental cars and may be able to apply some of our deposit to the price.
