2007 12 Hour
|
|
After 3 consecutive winning 12 hour races in a row
in SM, RP’s good fortune took a turn for the worse…While
leading with about 30 minutes to go in the race, our engine dropped a
valve and we suffered catastrophic engine failure…Although these
Miatas are brutally reliable machines, they are still machines and
while failure is truly a rarity, they still do succumb to the strenuous
racing demands we make of them race in and race out from time to time. Even the the RP’s SM effort ended
with mechanical trouble our RP Performance SSM team carried the teams
colors onto victory with 1st place honors in class.

Cris Kellett
2007
|
|
2007 was a dream year for Chris Kellett in the MARRS
series, 1 win in SSM, a class win in the 12 hours at Summit Point,
qualified in the top 5 in all SSM races that he ran in and always
finished in the top 3.

Scott Brunk
2007
|
|
During a season of conservation and “taking it
easy” Scott was able to
knock off several Marrs wins regionally, and two second place national
finishes, including setting a new track record at Summit Point Raceway.

|
Ken Zalner
2007
|
|
In a season of some tough mechanical gremlins while
racing in his sophomore season of national competition, Ken was able to
repeat his national win at Summit Point Raceway from 2006. He now has two wins for
his two attempts at the Summit Point National and is definitely looking
forward to trying to 3-peat in 2008.

2006
Accomplishments

|
RP Performance drivers, Ken Zalner and Scott Brunk
were unstoppable as teammates in SM as they crushed the competition in
the entire North East division of SCCA national racing. From
poles, to track records, to wins and podium finishes, their
effort was a full out onslaught in every way imaginable. Ken won the national championship
knocking off 3 wins along the way and also claiming Rookie of the Year
honors, during SM’s first year of eligibility in SCCA National
Competition. Scott brought it
home in 2nd place in the points for a very impressive RP
Performance 1, 2 finish. Scott
also won two races and earned two new track records along the way.
